Wow-What a Year

2010 flew by.
This past year I tried new things.
First, there was my attempt at downhill skiing in February.

Then I decided to get my motorcycle license.

And I rediscovered my love of horses and riding.

After waiting for 20 years I finally explored Northern California and had an unforgettable cross country train trip.

And then there was my knitting. I managed to knit almost 15,000 yards. That's 8.5 miles of yarn. I fell in love with knitting shawls as I was able to start and finish 17 of them during 2010. It's hard to pick my favorite so here are my top two.
My Haruni shawl was knit in tandem with the winter Olympics. The yarn sparkles like winter snow.

My latest stole-Seascape, was knit in a delicate laceweight 100% cashmere. The color and the story behind acquiring the yarn makes me smile every time I see it.

Here's hoping for a healthy and happy 2011.
