Life in fast forward

Life is zipping by this year.
Chance had to wait 4 months for Driver's Ed classes but he finally got his driving permit in February. It's been a challenge for me to stay calm while teaching a 15 year old how to be a "defensive driver". It didn't help that the driver's ed teacher gave him the nickname "burn out".

In February he decided to take placement tests for the community college so he could start taking summer classes. The tests went well and he decided he'd like to take classes full time in the fall semester. In May he graduated from home school studies.

His ambitious goal is to have his associate degree when he's 17. Taking 7 classes this semester has been quite the challenge for him. Juggling a social life with school work is even more challenging.

It seems like just last week he was 8 years old begging me to take him out of public school. I'm so thankful I followed his suggestion and had all those years to watch him develop a love of  learning.

Life moved way too fast but I am so thankful that I took the time to enjoy every step of the journey.
